The property was very fancy by our standards. I’m talking chandeliers, winding marble staircases, and two people greeting you at the door! Staff went out of their way to be friendly and accomodating. We are country folk with young kids and a baby, and they were so kind and welcoming. We were seated out of the way at breakfast so my friend could breast feed, and the buffet style breakfast was the best any of us have had! For a very black tie looking establishment, we saw a few other families as well. The breakfast room had all sorts, with business men, a group of women in dresses laughing over coffee and juice, and a kid happily demolishing a whole apple all sitting at tables next to eachother in complete comfort! Rooms were very soundproof which was a huge help with settling the little kids! My partner was tickled pink that they even had a pillow menu! Would definitely stay again. Outstanding!

The free trams stop right in front of the hotel, and it is easy to map your trip on Google and get all the necessary connections. The Australian Open grounds were within 8 minutes walk from the hotel, so it was easy to go back and forth. The Melbourne Cricket Ground is even closer for cricket fans and tourists.

Loved the view. (in front of MCG and side view of city skyline) Room very comfy and clean. Snack bar - bit limited - No small bottles of wine/white wine in fridge, only 1 x chocolate (Rocky Rd). Had to ask for teaspoons for making coffees. Re - room service.. I did ask for Wholegrain bread (for toast), got sourdough. Another time I asked for croissant with jam (didn't get the jam).

The mattress was very comfortable and the pillows were good also. Generally I find pillows terrible in hotels. I loved the light controls being located on the bed head as well as other places. The shower was nice, but I couldn't figure out how to use the hand held head. There was a generous selection of towels on offer. Their quality was good.

Mattress and pillows were super comfortable, so were all the furniture - great choices! Even the tap was impressive - smooth and easy to control.
